HEAVY PETALS: Work by Molly Pamela 2.16.13

Hibernation has ended. Now we must show.

Since Art of the Game, we've taken some time to regroup and figure out how to make this year better than the last. We've said F January, how about we kick off the year in a real month: February. Black History, groundhogs, presidents, love, more presidents, and MOLLY PAMELA.

Our newest favorite transplant (from Youngstown!) will be blessing us with her installations February 16, 2013 @ 7PM (the same night as BRITE WINTER!). PALOOKAVILLE will also be serving up hot eats next door, so bring an appetite. Come enjoy the sights and lights of Ohio City and stop by BUCKBUCK for some refreshments and amazing company.

Molly Pamela's mission is to speak for women and to super-soak her audience with her complexities – simultaneously staining all she touches. Her art doesn't run parallel to recurring feminist movements -- it magnifies emotional and unfortunately, political issues concerning the equality and acceptance of women on an intimate scale. Every intricately stitched, glued, colored, and knitted pattern of her work represents the way women struggle. Visual creations became more than a coping mechanism; they became her purpose. Molly Pamela obtained her BFA in Spatial Arts from Youngstown State University. She is currently planted in Lakewood, Ohio with her soil-mate and two guinea pigs.

Opening: February 16th, 2013 @ 7PM
Closing: April 6th, 2013 @ 7PM
